Such as why won’t the Evo start. Just a light click and evidence of current drain. The positive terminal was badly corroded and wouldn’t tighten so I am going to replace it. Also looking at the starter to make sure everything is right.

Last battery drain I dealt with turned out to be a faulty head unit.

If it’s draining current than it sounds like either the starter or the engine doesn’t want to turn. Could it be flooded/hydrolocked somehow? I only ask because we just recently fixed a bike that was doing the exact same thing.

Have you tried hammering the starter while cranking?

Nah, got it to start. Just want to make sure it starts consistently. I'm tempted to do the starter just in case.

Like radio head unit? I put in an aftermarket unit a year ago. Tempted to pull the fuse.

Huh. Yeah, then it sounds almost like a bad relay or something.

Then again I’ve yet to successfully fix any of these non-starting bikes so maybe take my advice lightly.

Yeah, may as well try disconnecting it.

Why are you assuming it’s not the battery? A damaged cell and all you’ll get is a click, it won’t even try to kick over. It’ll still read twelve volts. Has the battery ever drained completely? Has it sat for a week ever on that battery?
